76ers set record with 15th consecutive win

JJ Redick led the way for the 76ers with 28 points as they secured their 15th straight win, setting a new team record. Their victory over the Hawks brings them closer to clinching the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Despite rookie star Ben Simmons battling the stomach flu and missing the morning shootaround, he still contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. However, Simmons fouled out in the closing seconds of the game. Additionally, he received a technical foul in the third quarter for disputing a call that didn’t favor his team.

His teammates stepped up to fill the void left by Simmons’ absence. Redick was particularly impressive, sinking six of nine shots from beyond the three-point line. Former Atlanta players Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Belinelli also made significant contributions against their former team. Ilyasova scored 26 points, while Belinelli added 20, with the duo combining for nine three-pointers. Overall, the 76ers made 17 of 37 attempts from beyond the arc.

In other games around the league:

The Charlotte Hornets secured a 119-93 victory over the Indiana Pacers, who rested three starters in preparation for the playoffs. Dwight Howard led the Hornets with 14 points and 17 rebounds, while Frank Kaminsky tied his career-high with 24 points.

The Washington Wizards defeated the Boston Celtics 113-101, with John Wall reaching 5,000 career assists. Despite Jaylen Brown’s strong start for the Celtics, Wall’s 29 points and 12 assists propelled the Wizards to victory. However, the Wizards faced a setback as Otto Porter Jr. left the game at halftime with a right lower leg strain.

The Phoenix Suns defeated the Dallas Mavericks 124-97, with rookie Alec Peters scoring a career-high 36 points.

The Utah Jazz dominated the Golden State Warriors with a 119-79 victory. Donovan Mitchell scored 22 points and set an NBA rookie record for three-pointers, while Derrick Favors added 16 points and nine rebounds. The Jazz have the opportunity to secure the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference with a win over the Portland Trail Blazers in their final regular-season game.
